Make your own apps
In Desk, press New app and describe it, as you would in any AI chat. Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line; Up and Down bring back what you asked before.
The AI writes the app into its own folder, runs its Python, and looks at it in light and dark before it says it is done. The app shows beside the chat.
Open the app's ⋯ menu → Change and ask for what you want. Every change is saved first, so Undo last change puts the app back.
What your apps can do
- They run on your computer. An app can read and write your files, run Python and reach the network, because it runs there and nowhere else. Your apps never sync to another device.
- Each app is kept apart. Every app has its own address in the browser, so one app cannot use another's files, Python or AI.
- While it builds, the AI touches only that app. Its tools reach the app's folder and nothing else: no shell, no other files.
- Your data stays. What an app stores goes in its
data/folder; Undo and Delete never touch it, and Delete keeps a copy of the app.
Which AI, which model
Desk uses the AI subscription you already have, Claude or ChatGPT, through the coding tool PriorStates Studio finds on your computer. Pick the model in the chat box or on Desk's AI page; Default is what Studio would use. To switch AI or sign in, open the PriorStates Studio window → Settings → Your AI.
Making apps needs PriorStates Studio on that computer. It opens Desk for you from its window.
