No more crowd at the door.
Guests scan a code at the door and join the line from their own phone, with nothing to install.
They see their place and the wait, and their page rings when their table is ready.
The try page runs the app with example data. Nothing to install, nothing kept.
How it helps
A sign with a QR code
Print the door sign: your business name, “Join the waitlist” and the code. Guests give a name, the party size and, if they like, a phone number and a note. You can add a party by hand too.
Their place and wait, live
Each guest sees their number, their place in line and an estimate. The estimate learns from the parties you seated today; until then it uses the minutes per party you set.
“Your table is ready”
Tap Ready and the guest's page shows it full screen, with sound and vibration, until they tap On my way. Guests can also turn on notifications in their browser; on iPhone, they keep the page open. Or text them from your own phone in one tap.
Now calling, on a TV
Open the TV link on any TV: who is being called, who is next, the wait for a new party and a code to join. First names or initials only, never phone numbers.
🔒 Private by design
What guests send, their name, party size, phone and note, is sealed end to end and opened only on your device. The guests' page and the TV show numbers and first names or initials, never phone numbers or notes. Texts go from your own phone. Guests need no account and no app.
Make it yours
Ask Studio for a change in plain words, for example:
- “Ask for the guest's seating choice: inside, patio or bar”
- “Show the wait in English and Spanish on the TV”
- “Add a line for parties with a stroller or wheelchair”
Every version is kept in History, so any change can be undone.
Questions
What does it cost?
Nothing. Waitlist and PriorStates Studio are free, with no ads. Changing the app by asking uses the AI in Studio: a free starter, limited per day, or your own AI key.
Do my guests need to install anything?
No. They scan the code with their phone's camera and the page opens in their browser. There is no sign-up, and the page follows their phone's language.
How do guests know their table is ready?
Their page rings, with sound and vibration, while it is open. If they turn on notifications, their browser can show it too; on iPhone, they keep the page open. You can also text them from your own phone.
Which devices does it work on?
Run the line in the Studio app on Android or iPhone, in Studio on the web or in Studio on your computer. Any TV with a browser can show Now calling. You can try it first in your browser with example data.
Made with PriorStates Studio
Waitlist is one of the free apps in the Studio Gallery. Studio changes it for you when you ask, and makes a new app when you describe what you need: a sign-up sheet, an order form, a tracker.
