Send a link that people answer, or send the app itself. Links are private, and answers are sealed so only you can read them.

Two ways to share

  • Send a link that people answer. Many apps make a link for other people: your shop, an order form, a sign-up sheet, a poll, a booking page. They open it in any browser, with nothing to install and no account, and their answers come back to you.
  • Send the app itself. Hold an app's tile and tap Share. The other person gets their own copy, to use and change as they like. You choose whether your data goes with it.

Private by link

  • Only people with the link can open it. A link is not listed or searchable anywhere. Treat it like a key: send it to the people it is for.
  • Answers are sealed. What people send you (an order, a sign-up, a question) is sealed on their device so only your devices can read it. Our server passes it on and cannot read it.
  • Each person sees their own. A customer sees their own order and its status, never anyone else's.
  • Live. When you change your menu or mark an order Ready, open pages update within seconds.

The Send the link sheet

When an app has a link ready, tap Send (or Send link). In the App Store and Google Play apps, your phone's own share sheet opens. Elsewhere, Studio's Send the link sheet opens with:

  • the message, which you can edit (the link always stays in it);
  • Copy, or copy the link only;
  • Email, Text and WhatsApp, which open your own app with the message filled in;
  • a QR code of the link, for someone standing next to you.

QR codes and printed signs

Several apps print a sign with a QR code, so people join from their own phone: Sign-up Sheet, Event RSVP and Poll; Waitlist's door sign; Business Page's sign. Print it, tape it up, and people scan it with their camera.

Live boards on a TV

Some apps show a screen for a TV: Menu Board, Notice Board, Waitlist's Now calling and Shift Board's Show on screen. Open the TV link in the TV's browser, or install Studio Screen on a Google TV or Android TV. Changes reach the TV within about a minute. See Screens and playlists.

Your Business Page

A one-page site for your business, published as a link from your phone: hours that say open or closed, your services, photos and buttons to your other links. See Put your business on one page.

Coming in these docs

Sending an app with or without its data, replies to apps you made yourself, and links for groups (Class Board, Group Order, Carpool). Until then, each app's page lists its own sharing steps: all apps.
