Use your apps from your AI chat app

Ask in the AI chat app you already use: it works through your Studio apps with the Assistant's rules, and nothing changes until you tap Do it in Studio.

What it does

Your Studio apps can be used from the AI chat app you already use, on your own subscription. Ask there, for example “who still owes me for this week’s orders?” or “log today 7:00 to 15:30 on Bakery”, and your chat app works through your apps the same way the Assistant does inside Studio.

The rules are the same as in Studio:

  • It sees only the apps that offer actions and the actions each one offers. Today that is Shop, Payments, Bookings and Timesheet.
  • It reads an app only after you allow it, once per app, in Studio. The question names the chat app that asks.
  • It never changes anything itself. It prepares a plan, the plan appears in the Assistant in Studio, and nothing runs until you tap Do it there. Messages come back for you to send.
  • It can see how a plan went: waiting, done (with each step’s result), or not done.

Set it up

You need the Assistant in Studio on your phone or on the web (add it from the Gallery), and an AI chat app that accepts custom connectors (the MCP standard).

  1. In Studio, open the Assistant, tap ⋯, then Use from your AI app, then Get a code.
  2. In your AI chat app, add a custom connector with this address: https://priorstates.com/mcp/studio
  3. When it opens the sign-in page, type the code Studio showed. A code works once, for 10 minutes.

That’s it. The connection stays until you disconnect it; your chat app renews its own sign-in.

Keep Studio open

Your data stays on your devices, so your Studio answers the chat app’s requests itself, while it is open. If Studio is closed, the chat app is told to try again.

In the same sheet you can turn on Notify me when my AI app asks while Studio is closed. The notification carries nothing of the request: tap it to open Studio, then ask your AI app again.

Disconnect

Open Use from your AI app again: it lists the connected chat apps by name. Disconnect ends every connection from that Studio at once.

Privacy

Requests and answers pass through PriorStates’ relay in memory only: nothing of them is written or logged, only counts. The relay keeps the link itself, the names of the chat apps connected to it, and fingerprints of their sign-ins. More in the privacy policy.

Where it works, and what has been tested

  • Studio: on your phone and on the web. Studio on a computer does not answer the connector yet.
  • Tested end to end (2026-11-01): Claude Code, Anthropic’s MCP client: it signed in with Studio’s code, listed the apps, proposed a plan, the plan ran after Do it, and Disconnect ended it.
  • Not tested yet: the ChatGPT and Claude apps themselves. They use the same standard and sign-in, so they are expected to work.
